If you would like to join FREMAP, below you will find all the documentation and steps needed to do so.

Are you a Newly Established self-employed worker?

To register with the Social Security Institute and to be able to join FREMAP in the coverage of the benefit for Temporary Incapacity due to Non Work-related Injuries and Illnesses, the coverage for Work-related Injuries and Diseases, or Termination of Activity, it is necessary to complete form TA.0521 for registering in the Special Scheme for Self-Employed Workers, specifying the mutual society you have chosen (FREMAP 061).

Are you a self-employed worker who is a member of another mutual society?

  • Complete the cancellation request with the other Mutual Society.
  • Submit two copies of the cancellation form or securely send the cancellation request to your current mutual society before 1 October of each year. The change will be effective starting on 1 January of the following year.
  • Deliver, before 1 October, a membership application letter to any FREMAP centre that must be accompanied by:
    • A sealed copy of the cancellation request document or cancellation certificate if your current mutual society provided you one after the request.

If also wishes to expand the coverage (Work-related injury and Occupational Disease and/or Cessation of Activity), he should fill the model TA.0521/1 that it will find in the next link This link will open in a pop-up window.

And you will have to submit form TA.0521/1 directly to the corresponding Delegation of the General Treasury of the Social Security, together with the letter of cancellation request / cancellation certificate from your current mutual society, before 1 October in order for these coverages to be extended from January of the following year.

Are you a self-employed worker who is a member of INSS?

All self-employed workers who are a member of the INSS and want to change the coverages with a Mutual Society Collaborating with the Social Security Institute, will be able to do so before 1 October of this year. Membership to the Mutual Society will take effect from 1 January of the following year.

Similarly, any self-employed worker who wants to expand their protection and also cover the contingencies derived from Work-related injuries and the Work-related Illnesses and/or the Termination of Activity with the company with which they are covered for Non Work-related injuries or illnesses, will be able to do so before 1 October.
